New Years Eve – Jurashics Style

For New years – Adam and I were able to have our good friends the Jurgens, Ashby’s, and Kerics over for our traditional New Years Eve party.  We’ve been hosting this ever since we started our Jurashic Eggs group back in 2008 and boy do we love it.  We always have so much fun together and spend the night laughing hysterically.
This year we decided to keep it easy peasy lemon squeezy (since we now have NINE children between us) and so we ordered some pizza from one of our favorite local pizza places called Docs.  Everyone brought a little something to share so we had a veggie tray, fruit tray, drinks, cheesecake, and Missy’s amazingly addicting Chex Mix that we all love to go along with our pizza.  Eating always seems to be the favorite pastime when we are together with these friends and I’m pretty sure we all went home with expanded waistlines.  At least I did! Let the New Years Resolutions begin!
Because most of us have little munchkins now though – we unfortunately didn’t score very well on the sleeping over part of the party that usually happens – but that actually was no problem at all.  We had a great time during the time everyone was able to be here and partied to our hearts content.
One of the things I REALLY wanted to do while everyone was here though was to have a dance party of sorts where us girls could get our Groove on.  I have such wonderful memories with these ladies going to Mamma Mia together and then later doing the Mamma Mia dance moves at Kimbers bridal shower.  We just always seem to have smiles on our faces when music and dance are combined.  Missy was luckily able to borrow a few “Just Dance” games from her Mom – which gave us the tools we needed to make our party a success.  We had a great time jigging with it to “Girls Just want to Have Fun,” “I like to Move it, Move it,” “You’re hot than your cold,” and “Boot Scootin Boogie.”  I think each of us won at least one time too – which made it super fun too.
Our favorite part though was watching the kids while we were dancing.  They seemed to be just as into as we were and were jumping and shaking and bouncing all over the place with us.  So after us ladies had a chance for our dance off we put in a kids “just dance” and had a ball watching our wee little onces shake their booties to songs like “There’s a party in my Tummy,” “Hot Potato,” and “Kung Fu Fighting.”  They were all just absolutely ADORABLE and cracked us all up.
By this time it was WAY past some of the kids bedtimes – so with lots of hugs and promises to do this again soon – the Ashby’s and Jurgens were off.  We were luckily able to convince the Kerics to hang with us until midnight and we celebrated by going outside at midnight and throwing poppers all over the sidewalk! We may have had a few smooches in their too!  Pics below.

The boys turn!

The Dad’s were all there too!
All of us Giddy Girls – pumped up from our dance party!

All in all – it was a wonderful night spent with wonderful friends.
Thanks for coming guys!  We sure love you!
