One C-R-A-Z-Y Day!

Adam and I had to laugh tonight as we reminisced about the happenings that have transpired within the past 24 hours with our 3 little boys. All of these incidents of course occured when one out of the two of us was left to man all 3 boys alone. Unfortunately I do not have many pictures of the events, (since my camera gave up the ghost at Lake Powell), so hopefully the stories will do the day justice. Most of the events happened while Ad was at work and I was on guard duty…er, fulfilling my motherly responsibilities I mean. 🙂

1. Branson finds some old markers I confiscated some time ago after climbing on top of the cupboards to sneak candy out of the candy jar and decides to draw in his coloring book. Harrison decides to join in the fun but prefers having his own space and takes his art work to the living room hall area where he makes his mark on our freshly painted (in February) walls with his lovely green marker.

Adam captured PART of the lovely wall art on his cell phone camera. The rest is down the hall

2. Dawson, who has been sleeping through the night since he was 4 weeks old for some reason has trouble keeping his little eyes closed and wakes me up every hour from midnight on, pretty much the entire night. One of said wakenings is due to a blow-out poopy diaper. Bless his cotton-pickin poopin heart! 🙂

3. For breakfast, Harrison decides to “spice” things up, by getting the tabasco sauce out of the fridge (while I’m getting a bottle ready for Dawson) and empties it out all over the floor.

4. For a snack Branson decides he wants the canister of pringles on the top shelf of the pantry and therefore gets a stool from under the bar and climbs up and knocks the pringles to the floor scattering them everywhere. His version of cleaning them up was to eat them off the floor. Eck!

5. I buy a new camera online (since my old one died) just to get an email telling me I need to call the company to CONFIRM my order? What? Who does that? This sends all sort of red flags up for me and I research the company, find them on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and find out that they are a switch and bait scam company! Ahhh.

6. I call my cedit card customer service line to see if I can stop the fraudulent company from charging my card. Nope, I can only dispute a charge once the crime has happend. No measures in place to actually PREVENT the charge for taking place in the first place.

7. I call the scammer company to cancel my camera order and am put on hold or transferred 6 TIMES! The most anyone says to me is, “what is your order number?” when I give it them them they say, “please hold” and transfer me to someone else, who also ONLY asks, “what is your order number,” and transfers me again, and the process repeats 4 times until the last guy hangs up on me when I tell him I would like to cancel. Nice! GREAT customer service. (Yes you are sensing sarcasm) So I call back, am transfered 2 more times and finally end up with a guy that asks me for my order number. I start trying to tell him what my experience has been and he COMPLETELY cuts me off and says, “Mam just give me your order number.” Wow. I cancelled immediately and hung up the phone with not so nice thoughts in my head.

8. While I am dealing with the camera issue, Harry-Bob decides to get into my jewelry box, take out ALL my earings, rings (including wedding ring…found it though thank goodness) and neclaces and throw them all over the bathroom or hide them in knick knacks (my light house on the bathroom counter).

9. Harrison decides hiding my jewelry isn’t fun enough and proceeds to lotion them all down using my expensive smell good Victoria Secret lotion!

10. Branson gets into an upstairs closet and finds 2 old games and scatters the peices ALL over the upstairs family room, mixing them up together creating a huge mess.

11. Harrison somehow is able to get down Branson’s memory game (with about 50 pieces) and two 25 peice puzzles and scatters those all over my bedroom floor making another lovely mess.

12. Branson asks to color and I get down his crayons and coloring books. He decides its easier to color WITHOUT the paper wrapped around the crayons and proceeds to take off all the paper and leave it shredded all over the kitchen floor creating yet another mess.

13. Harrison decides to also join in on the fun and dumps the LARGE container of crayons out all over the kitchen, and then takes some down to my room and dumps more out there! Have I mentioned that this activity also made a mess? I seem to be saying that word a lot today strange enough.

14. Mom’s highly anticipated Zumba workout Videos arrive from Fedex and within an hour several of the DVD’s and workout sticks are missing. Ahhhh. Mom finds them in Dawsons crib later when she goes to get him up from his nap. How in the world did they get there?

15. Branson decides its funner to ride his little indoor scooter bike over peoples (instead of around them) and hurts little Harry-Bobs toes causing Harrison to scream out in pain, which then leads to Branson gettinig the bike taken away, which leads to a tantrum, which leads to a timeout, which leads to another tantrum from Harrison who now wants to ride the bike!

16. We have frozen pizza and Spaghettios for dinner when Mom runs out of time to make dinner because her almost two year old son has AGAIN gotten into the fridge and this time has taken out eggs and broken them all over the floor!

17. Dad comes home and Mom tags him with no touch backs for infinity and runs into her room to escape from her darling wonderful always obedient children to have a little moment to herself before jumping on a call for her 6 advisors class that night!! 🙂

18. Dad takes ALL 3 of the boys outside where he hopes to fix a couple sprinklers that aren’t working correctly while they play, and 2 neighbors stop by to say hello. Harrison biffs it on his little scooter bike when he hits the hose which sends him flying onto the concrete where he scratches up his nose and cuts open his lip.

19. Adam picks up Harry-Bob to console him, but Harry’s crying scares Dawson who also starts crying and screaming uncontrollably, so Adam also goes to pick him Dawson up and now has one boy in each arm.

20. Adam then realizes Harrison is bleeding from his mouth and nose when he see’s blood marks all over his shirt, so Ad excuses himself from the neighbors to go and help Harry get cleaned up.

21. Both Harry-Bob and Dawson are still screaming, so Ad puts Dawson in his exersaucer while he cleans up Harry and gets him a popcycle to help with his swollen lip and help calm him down. On his way to the freezer, however, he discovers Branson screaming because he had tried to put sunscreen on himself and sprayed himself in both eyes!

The night ends with popcycles all around to stop everyone from crying! Oh and did I mention that Mommy didn’t get a nap in today? 🙂

Wow! It's days like those that make you really excited to be a grandparent so you can watch your children go through it all too.

Aren't they lucky we let them live? Actually, sometimes I'm not sure I can do an adequate job keeping them alive. I lost John at the pool yesterday and 5 minutes later the lifeguard did a fake "someone's drowing drill." I thought my heart was going to fail. Then Isaac nearly got hit by a car. My girls were never so exhausting!

Wow Sarah!!! I am so sorry!! You definitely win the prize for the craziest day. I hope you've had some better days since then, and especially hope that you don't get any bad charges from that camera company. I just want to hug you 🙂 Love you!!
