Payson Onion Days Carnival

After a long day of sweeping and mopping all our tile floors, deep cleaning 3 bathrooms, washing sheets and making beds, putting in closet shelves and rods, and cleaning out our deep freezer we decided we deserved a night out on the town. Payson is having their 3 day annual Golden Onion Days festival so we decided to meander down to Memorial park where the festivities were in full swing. Within minutes of arriving the boys saw lots of kids running around with balloon swords and just HAD to have one! Luckily the booth was one of the first we passed and even more lucky was that they were giving them away for free!

Waiting patiently for their balloon swords!

Branson thought this was the coolest sword EVER!

And Harry-Bob just wasn’t completely sure what to do with his sword,

but thought it was fun anyways! (And refused to let anyone else hold it but insisted he carry it in this outward position, instead of up, so that he hit almost every person we passed!) Blessed his little heart!

Dawson just had a blast being in the stroller doing is normal activity of “people watching!”

After getting the balloon swords and looking at some booths we headed for where the real fun was! (aka. where all the rides and games were!)

They had a really fun little train for the kids to ride on

And lots of big kid rides too!

One of my favorites was the HUGE slide you could go down in sacks!

In one corner they had “kid only” rides

Bransons first pick was the dragon ride!

Harry-Bob chose a turtle with another cute little girl his age. The little flirt!

I so love my Adi.
There’s rarely a dull moment with him around!

The boys then got to ride on the jeep track. This I would dare say was their favorite because they really thought they were driving! 🙂

Next they took on the rad 1970’s motorcycles! Go Grease Lightning!

This cute little guy was nice enough to hold Harry and Bransons swords while they went on rides

We ended the night by watching the adult talent show where we got to listen to lots of singers and see some great sword and belly dancers. Afterwords, we took the kids on one last kiddie ride, and then Adam took his turn on one of those cool upside down twisty rides (like the one they have at Lagoon where the old magic carpet used to be). It was so great to see him having so much fun! We sure are loving living in Payson and going to all these fun activities that Payson puts on (Scottish Festival, Salmon Supper, and now the Onion Days and carnival). If I’m not careful, I just may end up falling in love with this quaint little town of ours! 🙂 Hope everyone had a wonderful Labor Day weekend as well!
