This last week we had a strange bug hit our house which caused 3 of our 4 kids to develop really high random fevers. The kids had no other symtoms of illness either but would just simply come down with a fever between 102.5 and 106.6 that would be unbreakable for about 24 hours even being doubled up on Tylenol and Ibprofen. It was really so weird. Then the next day they would have a lower grade fever for a few hours and then the illness would vanish. Crazy.
Adalynn came down with the fever Tuesday morning which meant that Adam and I had to cancel and reschedule our date night so we could stay home and take care of her. We rescheduled for Thursday but by then both Dawson and Harry had also come down with the fever. So once again our date night got cancelled. I was pretty disappointed about not getting my Adam time so Adam and I decided to get a little creative and I ended up going and picking us up some dinner at a local joint in Salem and then we went outside to eat it together on a blanket. It was a perfect evening and we just had fun snuggling on the blanket and our yummy hamberger, french fries, and coconut sprite shake from Parley’s place (a special treat for us). Adalynn joined us mid-meal as well and had fun eating with us out on the grass. Sure was a fun yet spontaneous alternative to our normal date night. Thanks sweetie for a great picnic date!
