Projects

The last couple of weekends Adam and I have had fun getting some of our long awaited projects started. It always feels good to check something off our house “to do” list. And its even nicer when the weather cooperates with those projects! Thank you sunshine!

This weekend we decided to try to get our garden boxes done.

The hard laborers at work

We still need to level the boxes, stake them, and fill them in with compost, but I am just so pleased to have them built, I could do a little dance! We are hoping to finish the boxes on Monday night for our FHE activity and get our seedlings that we have been growing in our kitchen window planted.

This next project we actually finished last weekend for Mothers day. Adam has had this old cabinet-like thing since we were first married and we decided it would make the perfect shoe holder since our old method of a “shoe box” wasn’t working out so well. (mostly the kids just throw their shoes into the office creating a huge mess).

The cabinet was originally a natural wood color and pretty scratched so Adam and I decided to sand the cabinet and paint it black in order to modernize it a bit. I wish I would have thought to take some before pictures. But We absolutely love how well it turned out! So much, in fact, that we changed our original plan of putting the cabinet in the office and instead moved it into our main entry way hall! We also bought a fun mirror for above the cabinet to brighten up the wall a bit and give it some pizazz! I LOVE it!

I still need to find some fun things to put on top of the cabinet, but I love how it turned out!
Happy Mothers Day to me! 🙂
