A few years ago my wonderful Mother in law gave me over 100 Iris bulbs to plant along my 120 foot tier in the back. I grew up loving Iris’s as we had them in our backyard growing up and every Spring my Mom would send us to school with a bouquet for our teachers to say thank you. I’ve been able to enjoy my Iris’s Mumsie gave me for several years but this year they really outdid themselves and seemed twice as long and beautiful and FRAGRANT! We were also excited because we planted a few “newer” varieties Mumsie bought for us which finally bloomed this year. Below is my new favorite Iris which is the dark purple one you see. It is next to our normal light purple and white mixed iris which we also love, but these dark purples ones this year took my breath away. These beauties sure make me happy and I love to share that happiness with others. For family night last week the boys and I gathered up a bunch of these beauties and were able to take them around to all our widows, the girls I visit teach, and our nearby neighbors. We sure do love our flowers over here!
