We had to laugh at the weather in California because in Utah temperatures were in the 90’s, but in California they were actually in the 60’s! It was COLD! We didn’t know we’d need to bring our snow clothes to California in the middle of June! đ
On Saturday though temperatures warmed up a little and the sun actually came out for a couple of hours (I guess Californians in the area call it “June Gloom” this time of year because its almost always cloudy) so we figured it was a good day to head to the BEACH! So to the beach we went.
Aunt Carol lent us a couple of towels and boogie boards, and we were off. At first the kids were a little timid of the waves and water – but eventually they all enjoyed splashing and running away from the waves (with the exception of Adalynn who hates anything water unless its as warm as a hot tub). She and I hung out on the towels taking pictures while the boys had fun playing in the waves. Below are some pictures from our afternoon of fun.

After about a 1/2 hour we had the clouds roll back in though and it started to get CHILLY. I was glad I had worn a hoodie jacket and long pants over my swim suit.
Brans loved finding globs of sea weed and would drag them up to our little spot in the sand where Adalynn and I were sitting just to show us his special treasures!
Building sand castes and making moats with Daddy
Me and my girl all bundled up trying to keep warm.
Right before we left I convinced Adam to go in and show the boys how Boogie Boarding is REALLY done. Unfortunately the waves weren’t very cooperative with him and he had to wait a LONG time before one came in that was big enough to ride. But the kids thought it was a hoot when he finally caught one! Way to go Daddy!
It was a great day at the Beach!
