Sea World

This last week the kids and I were able to join Adam on a business trip to San Diego! It had been almost two years since we had ventured out that far with the kids (aka flying somewhere with them) and unfortunately it didn’t go to well. Brans and Harry did really good on our 4 hour flight but little Dawson was NOT HAPPY and screamed almost the entire flight! Poor little guy just didn’t like being held and refused to nap so he was overly tired and NOTHING would make him happy. We tried the bottle, the binky, his lovies, fruit snacks, juice, toys, our quiet book Mumsie made us, playing pat-a-cake, singing to him, snuggling him, letting him walk around. Nothing seemed to work and I felt so bad for all the passengers on the plane. WHAT WERE WE THINKING!? Needless to say, I don’t think we will be flying for another two years at LEAST! 🙂 Bless our hearts!

The good news though is that once we landed and got off the plane everything seemed to go pretty smoothly. We flew in Tuesday night, grabbed some dinner from the Hilton, where we were staying for Adams business conference, and then put the kids to bed EARLY! (Since most of them missed their naps that day). Then Adam and I snuggled up and watched a CSI and headed to bed ourselves.

The next day was Branson’s birthday so even though Adam was working we just HAD to go and do something fun! 🙂 So the kids and I all got up early and headed to SEA WORLD for a day of fun! We had a wonderful time! (although again I’m not sure what I was thinking taking 3 kids 5 and under to theme park by myself! ha ha!) but we all survived the day and the boys had a BLAST!

Getting Ready to Head into Sea World! Lots of excited faces!

Visiting the Polar Bears!
We had one come right up to the window which was such a high light for the boys!

These white dolphin like creatures were pretty cool to watch!

The boys had so much fun looking at all the fish and sea creatures through the glass!

Dawson spent most of his time riding in the stroller!

My cute little penguins!

Bird watching!

The Seals!

Later that afternoon the boys and I decided to try to hit the Sea Lion show! Branson later said this was his favorite part. It was a great show and we loved the little otter! Too cute!

Isn’t he adorable!? And so smart!

I liked the end part the best when they brought out the pink walrus? I’m not sure what exactly he was, but they did a rap song with him that cracked me up and he was wearing a big gold gangsta necklace!

Immediately after the show we headed over to see Shamu! Our birthday boy was in Heaven!

Waving hello to the audience!

We had to keep Dawson entertained by feeding him snacks the whole time!

We all loved the many different tricks the whales did. So cool!

Next, we went and grabbed some lunch (hot dogs and fries) and then went to see the turtles!

Then we hit the aquarium to see some fish!

Luckily we got Dawson to fall asleep – guess the fish weren’t exciting enough for him! 🙂

Brans and Harry-bob loved the star fish exhibit!

And Harry really liked the sting rays!

The Pelicans they had all over were really fun too!

Then we hit up the shark exhibit! This big fella got a little too close for comfort!
Check out those teeth! Whoa!

I just love this picture of my birthday boy by this cool tree!

The last thing we did was the kids play place! I’m glad we did this last, because had we done this first I may have gone STRAIGHT home! The kids had a REALLY hard time listening to Mommy during this part and just kept running off in different directions to play on things! I felt like I was losing a child every few minutes and needing to re-start my heart! Needless to say we didn’t spend more than 30 minutes here! Mommy just couldn’t handle it!

The bounce house!

This is what happened about 2 minutes after getting in the car! Poor tuckered out little boy!

And these two crashed just a few minutes later!

Branson said it was the best birthday ever!
