Seven Peaks Madness

Yesterday Adam and I thought (since he has some time off) that it would be fun to take the boys to Seven Peaks one last time before our passes expire. Our plan was to head out at 3:30 but Adam ended up having a work escalation he had to work on, and then we had our home teacher and my Dad stop by unexpectedly – so we didn’t end up leaving until almost 5:00 pm.
We figured we’d better grab dinner on the way – so we stopped at McDonalds here in Payson so that the kids would have plenty of time to eat on the way. However, as we were passing out everyone’s food while driving on the freeway we realized we were missing part of what we had ordered. Ugh. So we decided to hit the McDonalds in Provo to see if they would perchance give us our missing food – even though it wasn’t their establishment that had messed up the order. They rocked and so totally did! We decided we liked McDonalds just a little bit more for that.
We could see some pretty nasty storm clouds heading our way as we were driving – but Adam called Seven Peaks who informed us the park was still open. However, JUST as we got there they closed down the rides. We decided to wait out the 30 minutes to see if it reopened – but after hearing lots of thunder and seeing more lightning we decided to bag Seven Peaks and take the kids to the dollar show.
Adam checked times for movies as we were driving towards movies 8 – but unfortunately everything we wanted to see started after 7:30 which would get us home way late for a school night. So once again we had to change plans. We ended up deciding to take the kids to Rock Canyon Park to play on the playground while I nursed Adalynn. After we’d been there about an hour the storm let up and we thought we’d try out Seven Peaks out one more time since we still had an hour before they closed. But…apparently it had shut down for good because there were only 3 cars in the parking lot and not a single soul to be seen. The cosmo’s just didn’t want to align for us I guess.
So we headed home where we ended the evening with .25 cent ice cream cones from – you guessed it – McDonalds. Here are some pictures of the kids “waiting out the storm.”
