Seven Peaks with Luke

In early July Adam and I were able to have our wonderful nieces Jasmine and Trinity as well as our darling nephew Kollin over to spend the night while my brother worked.   My kids are always SO excited when these cousins come over and we really enjoy any chance we get to spend with them.
The next day my brother Luke took a half day off work and we met him at Seven Peaks for a day in the sun.  Adam and I took all 7 kids in our car and arrived a few hours earlier than Luke.  However, Adam had to take a call for work and so I ended up with all 7 kids by myself.  At a WATER PARK. Whoa.  I should have known better.  We got all the kids in life jackets and then headed for the kids area.  The problem though is that both Adalynn and Dawson HATE, HATE, HATE the water.  As in they scream bloody murder if you take them anywhere near it.  Or they cling to me in desperation as if their lives are hanging by a thread if their feet touch the water.  They are so not fun to take to water places yet.
So needless to say it was a little hectic trying to keep track of 5 kids swimming as well as 2 kids screaming for their lives.  It didn’t help either that when we walked from one kids area to the next that Dawson decided to go off on his own (luckily I was watching him) but the little stinker had his own agenda and so I had to make the whole group stop while I went running after him.  Then another time he DID manage to sneak away without me seeing which sent me into a frenzy as I’m supposed to be watching 6 other kids and yet I need to go and look for my missing baby boy.  Ahhhh!  Luckily Dawson came running back into site just as I set up Jasmine and Tri to watch over Adalynn while I took a few of the boys with me to help look.  Needless to say it was CRAZY and I will NOT be attempting that again anytime soon.  Oh and did I mention that he also ran off AGAIN when Adam and Luke came too?  I think I swallowed my heart at least 3 times that day!
But…we did manage to have some fun but had to switch off staying back at “camp” with Dawson and Little Miss since they were not so fond of the water.  To end the evening we went out to eat at Braza Grill for some Brazilian food (YUM!) with Luke, Jasmine, Tri, and Kollin.  We sure do love spending time with family. 🙂
