This week we’ve had several cute little phrases come out of the boys mouths that I wanted to make sure I captured. Hope you enjoy!
One afternoon while eating lunch Branson heard something (like maybe Dawson waking up and crying in his room? I can’t remember) and I hadn’t heard whatever it was Branson heard so I asked, “how did you hear that buddy?” His response to me was, “Because I have good EAR-SIGHT!” Why yes. Yes you do buddy. 🙂
A few days ago Branson asked for Cinnamon Toast for breakfast. However, in an effort to help Branson learn to be more independent I asked him to try making the cinnamon toast himself. (Side Note: In a parenting class Adam and I took back before we had kids, one of the things we learned (that I actually remember) is to “never do anything for your kids on a regular basis that they are capable of doing themselves.”) So since Branson is actually capable of getting the bread out of the fridge, using the toaster, and smearing butter on his bread I wanted him to try to make the cinnamon toast himself. And this week I’ve been showing him how he can sprinkle on some (pre-made by me) cinnamon sugar using a spoon from a container that I store in the cupboard. So anyway, on this particular morning he was trying to sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar on his toast with the spoon and decided to try doing it a different way by smearing the cinnamon-sugar around with his spoon. Then he comments, “Mom, maybe what you could do is to flat it around like this (showing me how he smears it). I designed it!” It totally made me laugh!
Then later that evening while we were eating dinner I asked Harrison what he thought of the new recipe I had made that day (I’d tried a new potato soup recipe I found online that had a 5 star rating with over 3800 reviews). Harrison was so cute and promptly answered, “Mom this is BUH-LISS-US!” (Delicious!). I so love these sweet fellers of mine! They make me laugh everyday!
