Thanksgiving with the Egberts

For Thanksgiving this year we were able to go up to the Schofield Cabin with the Egbert Family. It was wonderful to be with Mum and Smurf and Chris and Nan, Alex, Nick, and Brooklyn but we sure missed the rest of the family who were spending the holiday elsewhere. We arrived Wednesday night and spent most of the evening talking and playing games! We enjoyed a new game called Crowns, and then played Sequence, Battleship, the 80’s game, and Sagarian.

On Thursday we started out the day right by making our “From Ceiling to Floor All the Things We are Thankful For” list that was a tradition with my room mate Vanessa back in my college days. (Thanks Ness!) The boys and I had a really fun time naming everything from Superman to Jesus to ear plugs!

Then the cooking began. Because there were so few of us this year, there was lots to do. Mum was amazing and in one afternoon made the Turkey, 4 or 5 pies, homemade rolls, a cheese spread made into a turkey, 2 different kinds of stuffing, and mashed potatoes. Adam and I were in charge of the green bean casserole, Jello, Cheesy potatoes, and veggie tray but then also helped Mum with whatever she needed. Chris and Nan brought their yummy Brown Sugar Pecan yams that were to die for!

Sitting down to play games after cooking all morning

The feast Begins!

All the Fixins!

Mum’s darling centerpiece

The Lollipop Turkey!

And Cracker and Cheese Turkey!

Adam and Dawson going for seconds….. or Formula, whatever floats your boat!

Digging in (it was the quietest it had been all day!)

Later the kids all got bundled into their snow clothes and went for 4-wheeler rides with Daddy!

Then on Friday Marcie and Steve, and Dani and Robbie came up to the cabin and brought Erin, Malachi, and Cole. We played more games, talked, read books, and had a 2nd HUGE Ham dinner together! It was an absolutely wonderful weekend!
Hope your Thanksgiving was great too!
