Adam and I have been blessed with some of the best friends in the world. We often come home from friend gatherings with looks of awe in our eyes wondering how in the world we got so blessed to have such good people in our lives. The Muirs are some of those friends that we just feel so grateful for. And lucky for us they are practically our back door neighbors!
Last Sunday they were kind enough to invite us to dinner even though they were hosting two other families in addition to us (see what I mean by amazing?) Jeff made an amazingly good brown sugar ham and then I brought some cheesy potatoes to go along with some other side dishes we had. It was all SO good.
After dinner we cleaned up and then moved the party to the living room where we all got to watch the Christmas devotional. I loved all the talks and feeling the spirit of Christmas. Later we all ended up back in the kitchen when we started smelling some yummy goodness coming from the oven. Jeff and Lori had thrown together some chocolate chip cookie dough (which was incredibly delicious all by itself) and had attempted to make cookies. We all had to laugh when they came out of the oven looking a little “flat and gooey” but my goodness did they ever taste good! We ended up getting spoons and scraping most of the cookies off the pans or just eating the dough right out of the bowl. So fun!
At the end of the evening Jeff and Lori insisted on going through all three of their kids rooms and playroom to find small gently used toys they wanted to donate to the food bank for gift bags my family is doing for homeless families this year. See how wonderful they are? Adam and I just left SO impressed with these good people. They sure are a blessing in our lives. Below are some pictures I snapped during the evening.
