The Wind Caves

For the last adventure of our Logan Canyon trip we decided to go and hike to the Wind Caves. The hike said it was only 1.3 miles or so up so we didn’t think it would be that big of a deal but it ended up being HARD for the little ones! Harrison and Branson were begging for us to carry them only about a third of the way up, and then wanted to stop for breaks about every 30 steps! What might have taken a normal person 1 hour to hike ended up taking us 2! It was slow going but the good news is that WE MADE IT! It literally took blood sweat and tears, but we did it! 🙂

At the beginning of the hike

I love this picture of Harry and Brans holding Daddy’s hand and little Dawson on Daddy’s back. So cute!

This is how the boys spent the majority of the hike…RESTING!

Daddy and Sazza!

Branson loved climbing on the rocks and trees at “resting places.”

I love that sweet little face!

One of the many beautiful views on the way up.

Mom and Dad took some time resting too!
It was hard work pulling/carrying 3 little boys up a mountain!

We found this little “mini cave” on the way up for the boys to play in (and rest in).

And the CAVES! This is looking down into them.

Now looking up while in them

And then looking OUT from inside them. So cool!

Snack Time!

The boys all loved this little hole they found in the cave and each took turns climbing inside!

When we got home we all jumped into our swimsuits and headed down to the stream to cool off!

The rest of the day we spent inside taking naps, watching movies, putting together puzzles, playing games and taking it EASY! Then we packed up our stuff and cleaned the cabin (for the 2nd time that weekend) and headed for home. Sure was a fun little trip where we were able to spend lots of quality time together as a family. How very blessed we are!

That sounds EXACTLY like our most recent hiking experience…only we didn't even go a mile! And to think, just a few months ago, I was bragging about how Evelynn and the boys all made it on an 1 3/4 Moderate hike (up hill for half way then down hill the rest). Why can't they be consistent?!?
