Xcaret Park – Day Two

On day two of our trip Mom and I decided it would be fun to explore more of Xcaret park.  It seriously had SO much to see and we had gotten a multi-day pass meaning we could go as often as we liked.  So we took advantage of that fully during the week.  This particular day Mom surprised me with another little birthday gift.  That of matching hats!  I sure do love my Mommy!

We spent the morning at our favorite buffet overlooking the water and then went and watched the waves for a bit.  I love this view from our beach chairs.

This friendly Iguana even let me pet him!

Some of the flowers in Mexico were amazing!  These beauties were hanging from a tree.

My first time seeing a Cebu in real life.  They are pretty crazy looking creatures!

After breakfast we headed over to the Xcaret gift shop and had fun browsing around and seeing some of the Mexican crafts.

Our favorite attraction in the gift shop though were these baby Quails that were hatching right before our eyes.  It was amazing to see the process and we found ourselves cheering for the baby chicks when they were finally able to get out of their shell.

The rest of the day we spent just exploring the park.  We were able to see the rivers we floated the day before from a different angel.  They sure were neat!

Mom and I thought this guy was a fake until we got a little close and he opened his eyes!
One of our favorite attractions was the butterfly pavilion where we got to see the process of a catepillar going into his cocoon, and then coming out a butterfly.  We loved having butterflies fly all around us.

We also got to see some Leopards and Cougars.  Pretty neat.

One of the strangest exhibits was that of a Mexican cemetery.  Each headstone was completely intricately designed and different from all the others.  They were really interesting to see but we couldn’t for the life of us figure out the story behind each one.  We wished they had some sort of pamphlet for us where we could read more about the history behind these.  They really were so amazing and I found myself wishing to take a few of the little houses home for Adalynn.  They were just so darling!

We weren’t really sure what the purpose of this was but that little hill the candles are lit on is just a really big mountain of wax.

These were some pictures I took inside an old church they had renovated.  The ceiling of the church was amazing!
Here are some of the little houses that we saw as we were walking through the cemetery.  One done completely in sea shells and the other one done in blue bottles.

I was pretty much in love with this view.  Mom and I were definitely in our happy place here!

Below is the area where we snorkeled the first day.  It wasn’t the best snorkeling we’d ever done as the fresh water met up with the salt water and made everything pretty fuzzy, but we still had a wonderful time and enjoyed ourselves.

We loved all the wildlife throughout the park.  Every corner had something new.

Sure was a wonderful day spent with my Mom in Xcaret park!
