A few weeks ago we received notes from Branson and Harry’s school reminding us that our kids had Friday off from school because of teachers comp. Adam and I decided it would be fun to take the kids up to Thanksgiving point to see the Dinosaur Museum that day using Adobe’s free family pass.
I was lucky enough to convince one of my best friends since Kindergarten Erica to meet up with us for lunch beforehand though which was so SO nice. It had been quite some time since we’d last done lunch so it was great to see her and catch up. We met at Zupas where we each got a scrumptious soup and salad. We were hoping Erica and her kids would be able to join us at the museum, but when we couldn’t find passes for less than $12 a person – we figured we’d better try for another time.
We had some time to kill before we were supposed to meet up with Adam though and so I took the kids on a little tour of Lehi where I grew up. I showed them where I went to High School, where I attended Elementary school at Sego Lily, and even showed them how I walked home from school. We ended up at the house I grew up in on 305 S. 1100 E. and as we drove up I started telling them about the backyard and pointing things out to them when I saw a sweet looking old lady in the yard. I decided to ring the doorbell and ask if she would allow me to show the kids the backyard. She did even better than that though and ended up taking us on a tour not only of the yard but of the house as well. It was crazy to think that I had lived there as a child! Everything was so different, and seemed SO much smaller, but so many memories just came flooding back into my mind and it really just made my day to be back in my old house again. I loved it!
Afterwards we were so close to where our cousins Jasmine, Tri, and Kollin live that we just HAD to stop and see them (Plus the kids were BEGGING to visit their cousins) so we stopped by unexpectedly and were able to convince them to come to the Dinosaur Museum with us. Yay! So off we went for a few hours of fun with our cousins! Below are some of the pictures we took at Zupas and the museum. I WISH I’d taken some of my old house, but I left my camera in the car and didn’t think about it until our tour was over. Doh!
At Zupas with beautiful Erica and darling Jenna.
Just outside the Dinosaur Museum where we just happened upon a big pile of leaves! Ready…

GOOOOO!!!!!
Sure was a fun day spent with good friends and wonderful family! Thank you Erica for meeting me for lunch and thank you Jaz, Tri, and Kollin for taking a spontaneous trip with us to the Museum! We love you!
To end our evening of fun, we decided to grab some 5 guys burgers and a pizza for dinner and head up to my parents in Alpine to say hello. They had just gotten back from being gone for several weeks for my Mom’s work so we were missing them. Plus we had a few big decisions we wanted their input on and they are always great to let us talk through things and give us their advice and counsel. We love that about them.
Sure was a wonderful day! We love spending time together with people we love!
