Visiting Adam’s old Apartment in Seoul (Neung Gok)

After church Adam wanted to explore his old area a bit and go and visit his old mission apartment near the church.  He had helped move into the apartment when it was first leased out.  We came to find out that the elders serving in the branch at the moment are actually LIVING in the exact same apartment Adam lived in over 17 years ago!  Wowsee Wow Wow!
So we were able to walk over to the apartment with them.  We had fun seeing a bit of Korea and Adam’s area as we walked.

See the car with the big puddle behind Dawson?  While we were walking past it Dawson looked up at me and said, “Ew Mom – look how much that car peed!”  It totally had us all cracking up!

Unfortunately mission rules don’t allow visitors IN the apartment, but the Elders were nice enough to take our camera up to their apartment and take pictures of it so Adam could see how it had changed. Apparently it looks almost the exact same – and just as messy as Adam remembers it!  Ha ha.  But he really enjoyed being back in his old stomping grounds and sharing some special memories he had while serving as a missionary in the area. Like how some of the Elders he served with would slide down the big hill by their apartment and almost always get hurt.  He said they were always doing dumb things like that.

Some of the pictures the Elders took for us of the inside of the apartment.

Adam said these were just tiny bushes when he first moved in.  Now look at them!  Underneath these bushes are the cement ditches that dumb missionaries used to slide down and hurt themselves.

It was so nice of the Elders currently serving to go and take pictures of the apartment for us though and they even brought down some Choco pies for the kids to snack on!  What a treat that was! Then we spent some time just walking around the area where Adam showed us more of his area.

Adam was in mission heaven getting to see all these fun places so full of cherished memories.  We loved seeing him in his happy place!
