Maya Beach, & Phi Phi Island

After visiting Bamboo island and Pirates cove, we headed over to the famous beach which was in the movie “The Beach.”  Adam and I haven’t seen the movie, but apparently it was filmed here and is a beach that many tourists love to visit.  Unfortunately for us though, our visit consisted of us just doing a drive by.  Darn it all.  But it was pretty none-the-less.

Then our next stop was to the beloved Phi Phi island (pronounced pee pee).  This is where the cruise company had arranged for us all to have lunch.  This was also the island I was most excited because of pictures I had seen online.  And I do have to say that this beach did NOT disappoint!  It was Gorgeous!
This was the pavilion where we were given a buffet lunch of different Thai dishes, rice, fruit, etc.
The kids had fun playing in the big grassy lot next door as we eat and talked with our Canadian friends.

Then it was back to our boat for some Beach Time!!!!

The water and the weather were both gorgeous!

From there we drove around to the other side of the island to do some snorkeling.  This was the boys first time EVER going snorkeling and although they both ended up LOVING it, it took them some time before they got the hang of it.  Harry especially had some serious freak out moments putting his face underwater and breathing.  We didn’t even attempt trying to teach Dawson and Ady though and just preferred to put them on our backs as we snorkeled.  They loved feeling like little sea turtles!

On our way home we had to laugh because another really big storm came in and it pretty much followed us right back to the beach our hotel was at.  And then it let go of all its fury right as we arrived.  It was pretty awesome!  We all got caught in the storm and had to take cover at a tourist information center.

And almost as fast as it had come, the storm was gone and the sun came out!

Another amazing day in Paradise!!!  We love Thailand!
