After the Grand Palace I begged and pleaded to go and see just two more teensy weensy temples that seemed to be almost right next door that were even higher rated on tripadvisors list than the ones we had just been to, and on the way they just happened to have a street market. Since street markets usually have food, Adam kindly obliged to go through one. Score! Little did we know we would be dreadfully sucked into this thing and 2 hours later finally emerge. đ The good news though is that we came away with a new ring for me, pocket watches for the boys, and a handy dandy swiss army like thing that Adam is super excited about to take to the Winds with him. đ So the trip was successful. We also got lots of little “free” things too because Adalynn was just so cute! Like a bag of ice to help cool her/us down, and even a shiskabob of chicken! Who knew having a cute 2 year old would get you so much free stuff! đ
We also ended up getting some lunch while we were in the market, sometimes just grabbing little chicken snacks here or there, and other times grabbing drinks and noodles. Adam bought all of us some fun Thai juice drinks, but unfortunately none of them went over too well. They were all mostly cold fruit teas and the boys just weren’t having that! đ You can see how well Branson enjoyed the juice below! ha ha.
At the end of the street market was Wat Pho which was ranked number 3 on tripadvisors list. I thought it was a really cool temple, especially because of the HUGE reclining Buddha, but Adam and the kids were so done seeing temples at this point that they all opted to just sit and pay with the fish in the pond while I took the “fast tour” around the grounds.
Can you tell just how gigantic the Buddha was from these pictures? They probably don’t give him justice.
These were just his feet!
And I loved that he had foot prints on the bottom of his toesies too! So funny!
It was at this point that I left the kids and Adam just to relax by the pond and headed out myself. They were all just having too much fun playing in the water and needed a chance to cool off.
I don’t think they felt even a smidget bad for missing out on all these cool sights though! But I loved them!
