After our Hoover Dam field trip, the kids were all a big restless and crazy and so I thought it might be a good idea to stop and give them some time to just play and get their wiggles out. So we took a different way home that drove right next to Lake Mead. I talked to a guard at the ranger station and asked about a good place to stop and he suggested Boulder Beach. So that is where we decided to stop. It ended up just being perfect because we were able to drive right down next to the beach and had the whole place to ourselves (at least for the first 20 minutes or so). Then slowly a few other cars started arriving as well. But it was fun to just sit and eat some snacks and skip rocks for awhile.
Jamis created a game where he would put rocks down inside these cones and then wonder where they went. He is such a cutie!
On the way home we ended up getting a little lost when the directions we wrote down didn’t match up with the signs on the freeway. So we ended up going too far West and had to turn around and backtrack awhile. Then we took another little detour that took us clear out East of the strip and required more backtracking, but we were sure glad when we finally saw the Las Vegas sign welcoming us back into town! Yay!
I totally fell in love with this picture https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dYDDxQO2OmQ/WNnyOIWCnGI/AAAAAAAA4vI/tFF1w2jId9QG5awVQCeZjUGtuQZLWQsSwCLcB/s0/DSCN4573.JPG
I downloaded the hi res and love it so much I want to put it on display in my home in one of my ultra large digital picture displays. I went ahead and put it on display to have a sneak peek and it just knocked my socks off! No pun intended noting the boy is barefoot LOL! Anyway, great shot and one that I will really love having on display.
