Denver Children’s Museum with the Hales

After our little side trip to see the Colorado National monument and then 4 hour drive to Castle Rock, we were all super excited to finally arrive at Kevin and Teri’s house. It was so fun getting a tour of their beautiful home and we loved hearing about all the updates and work they had done.
It warmed my heart so much too that our kids instantly became fast buddies. Kevin and Teri’s Weslee and Kent are both such great boys and were so good to share all their toys. I loved seeing how well they all played together.

Later that night Teri graced us with her awesome culinary skills and made us all some super yummy homemade pizza! It was such a treat and we all loved getting to put on our own favorite toppings!

We loved Kevin and Teri’s beautiful view from their back kitchen window!

That night we had fun talking and catching up, and then we pulled out some fun board games to play while the kids played with legos and watched a movie in the other room. Kevin and Teri are serious gamers so it is always fun to learn new games they have found that they like. We love that they share their passion for gaming with us.

Then the next morning after a scrumptious breakfast we decided to head out to Denver for a day at the children’s museum.  These are always super fun for us to go to because our nearest kids museum in Utah is over an hour away! We loved getting to see and do so many fun things! Sorry in advance for the dark and blurry pictures. My camera does great at outdoor shots, but not so great at indoor – especially when its dark and there is a lot of movement! 😉

These first series of pictures are of the kids in the  “Fire Station” where they could put on fire fighter clothes, climb and play in a big fire truck, and go down the fireman’s pole!

Cute Weslee having fun in the fire truck.

Love this little bundle of chub!

Next we moved to what I can only describe as a “bubble room.” This was probably my favorite room in the museum because it had some really cool activities for the kids to try.  In the picture below the machine creates a bubble out of steam that evaporates when you touch it.

Then in the middle of the room they had a station where you could make gigantic bubble tubes!

Another fun activity was the one below where you could step inside a little box thing and then when you pulled a rope hanging down it would lift up 4 different “bubble walls” enclosing you inside. It was super cool!

See the “bubble walls?”

In another room they had a little kids shopping center and then across the way a “kitchen” of sorts where the kids could make different items with the play food. One little girl (who we didn’t know) liked to make up pretend food and then go around and allow all the adults to sample her dishes. It was really cute. Ady, Kent, and Dawson seemed to really love this room.

They also had a fun “outdoor” themed room where you could climb on things, go down slides, etc.

Another room was filled with art and craft supplies and lots of directions for how to make different objects. The kids loved making their own little creations here while Adam and I took turns trying to get our very tired baby to sleep.

Afterwards we headed out to the outdoor kids play area at the museum where we had some snacks and rested on the grass for awhile telling stories. We sure loved getting to spend the day with the Hales! Thanks guys for a wonderful outing!
