Monday August 3rd, was our 4th day in Glacier National Park, but also the day we checked out of our campsite. Our plan was to drive to the East side of Glacier and spend the day exploring Two Medicine, St. Mary’s, and Many Glacier. Then we hoped to drive over the border into Canada to find camping somewhere near Waterton National Park.
We were disappointed that the air was so smokey during our drive to the east side, which made taking pictures of far away mountains difficult, but we really were blessed with some beautiful weather, so we really couldn’t complain.
Our first stop on our way to the East side of Glacier was to Running Eagle Falls. The kids had been miss-behaving in the car (fighting quite a bit and not sharing), and so Adam kept them all back in the car while I booked it down the trail to take a quick picture of the falls. In the meantime Branson ended up throwing a complete tantrum, and when I got back from seeing the falls he refused to get into the car. Adam tried being patient with him at first, but that Brans is a stubborn one, and we were all getting tired of waiting for him, so he ended up being “forced” into the car kicking and screaming and had to sit in Adalynn’s car seat where Adam could strap him in. Luckily Brans is pretty quick to come out of his meltdowns and calmed down within a few minutes, but man did things get intense for a bit. Apparently we thwarted Bransons plans of living on his own in the wilderness! đ

Our next stop took us to Two Medicine Lake where we stopped to have lunch and play in the water.
I was in love with the beautiful mountains all around us!
I still can’t believe we are a family of 7 now! Where did all these little people come from? đ
Brans spent his time building an island out of rocks.
Adam brought down his sling shot and taught each of the kids how to skip rocks with it.
Mostly the kids just enjoyed throwing rocks.
Adam and I had to laugh when Harry saw this box of candy we had up front with us and asked if he could have some “Who Peppers!” ha ha.
After we were done at Two Medicine we continued heading North towards St. Mary’s but stopped occasionally to take some pictures of the beautiful scenery. This is Lake Sherburne if I remember right. Unfortunately the pictures aren’t super clear due to the smoke, but the lake was beautiful nonetheless.
This is the same lake but from a different direction – higher up the mountain.
And here are a few of the pictures of the mountain ranges we caught on camera as we drove through the park.
Oh how I just love being in nature!
