On our way back from our Sunday drive up to Bowman and McDonald Lake – we kept seeing these little turn outs off to the side of the road where we assumed slow cars could pull over to let others by. We even checked our park maps to see if there was any cool sights we should stop for, but it didn’t show anything listed.
However, what we started to notice, is that each time we stopped at one of these little pull outs there was almost without fail something really cool to see! Like a gorgeous waterfall, or some crystal clear turquoise pools, or a great hike! So as we meandered back home to our campsite we decided to stop at every single one of these pull outs along the road just to see if there was anything to see! And you know what? I think some of my favorite stops during our time in Glacier were at these pull outs! We saw some really awesome stuff! Just to give you a taste of some of the cool things we saw, check out the pictures below. And ALL of these were literally right off the side of the road (but required stopping and getting out of your car to see them). I was in Glacier Heaven! đ

This last picture I had to throw in here because one night the kids were being TERRIBLE about going to sleep in the tent trailer. It was literally HOURS past their bedtime, and they still hadn’t calmed down, and so Adam in an effort to get them to listen, threatened the kids by telling them they’d have to sleep outside if they didn’t go to bed. Well, as you may have guessed, the kids still didn’t listen, and continued being rowdy and so Adam made them all go out and lay on the picnic table (pretending like he was going to make them sleep out there)! Ha!
He then made sure they were good and quiet before letting them back in the trailer. Apparently this parenting tactic worked though because the next night – the kids went to bed without a peep! Definitely a funny story for the history books though. “Hey remember when Dad made us sleep out on the picnic table?” Yeah, I don’t think Ad’s going to live that one down. đ
