In May Adam had an opportunity to go over to Australia to do a training with some of his co-workers, and was kind enough to invite me along. đ We also wanted to do something big for our 15th anniversary, so it ended up working out perfectly! It was a super last minute trip, and wouldn’t have been possible without my amazing parents who happened to be in town and my awesome mother in law who were all willing to help with the kids, but because of them we were able to make it work! Thanks so much guys! We love you!
We left SLC on a Tuesday evening and then flew to LAX where we caught an 18 hour redeye flight to Sydney Australia. Boy was it a long day traveling, but well worth it when we finally arrived at 6:00 am on Thursday (Australia is a day ahead).
We luckily had booked a room for the night before, so that we could immediately check into our Meridian apartment we had rented in downtown Sydney. It was in Thai Town, which was awesome for me, because I could just run down the street and get all the Thai food I wanted, which is what I did for lunch. And it just so happened to also be right by India town, and Korea town, and China town so we really had a great variety of places to eat during our stay. We loved it.
Adam unfortunately didn’t get to rest once we arrived, and after dropping me off, he immediately went into work and spent the whole day there. I was completely jet lagged, and I think a little air sick too if I remember right (I think I may have threw up on the airplane when we landed), so I ended up spending most of the day sleeping and taking things easy. It was just what I would have wanted to do anyway, so it worked out well.
Then that evening Adam and I took a taxi to the Opera house and then got on a ferry over to Manly where we went out to eat and got sushi and eat it on the beach! Such an awesome first day in Australia! We loved seeing the Sydney Harbor bridge at night.
The city was beautiful too!
Dream come true to see this iconic building!
Panorama of the bridge and Opera House.

Having a great time in Australia!
