On Sunday, Adam found us an LDS church to go to in town, and so we got up fairly early and caught a bus out to the main part of the city. Unfortunately though, we underestimated when to get off the bus and ended up also needing to hail a taxi to take us the remainder of the way when we realized were were pretty far from where we needed to be. We eventually made it to church though and surprisingly were a little early. Nice!
We had to laugh when we arrived in the chapel and took our seats, as their was actually a full blown CLOWN going around passing out chocolates to all the children and families as a gift for Valentines day! Definitely not something you see back home in the states, but I loved it and thought it was such an awesome way to make people feel loved. The Elders also passed out roses to all the ladies, which I thought was so thoughtful. Apparently Valentines is a much bigger deal in Mexico! I loved being there to celebrate it.
Sacrament was unfortunately really hard to understand since Adam and I are both severely lacking in our Spanish speaking skills and so we had planned just to leave afterwards, but we had a member offer to translate for us during Sunday School so we stayed another hour. What kind people! We were so impressed with all the members we met and how helpful and giving they all were. It was so fun to be able to attend church with these good folks!
After church we found another bus and headed home where we took a stroll around the front of the resort and found this cool little park like area with lots of awesome vegetation, ponds, and waterfalls.
Then we headed down to the beach and to grab a bite for lunch! Sure love this handsome man of mine!
Then later that night Adam and I went down to the restaurant right on the beach where we had made reservations for dinner. Adam loved getting mango smoothies everywhere we went all for free with our package!
