For the 2nd half of our excursion we went to a fun waterpark called Xel-Ha. Adam originally had wanted to go to another more EXTREME park called Explore that had lots of adventure, but due to my pregnancy I wouldn’t have been able to participate at all. So we opted to do the more pregnant friendly Xel-ha. It ended up being super fun though. We started out with a nice buffet lunch and then had the whole rest of the day to explore the park. They had ziplines, rock climbing, ropes courses, underwater caves, lazy river tube rides, bike riding, and all sorts of fun things. And the good news? I could do most of it! Hurray!
We started off our day by riding bikes up to the tube ride, and then we both got snorkeling gear. Adam opted to snorkel the entire way down the river, while I mostly stayed in my tube and took pictures of everything. It was actually a fairly cold day so I preferred staying above water in the sun!
This is my favorite pic from the day! Look at that goofy grin! Love my Adam!
After going through the mangrove tree forest, Adam found a rock wall and of course had to climb it! He scaled it in no time and then jumped off the cliff at the top! Go Ad!
Then it was off to the ropes course where Adam did two different runs. This first one was actually super tiring because you’d get stuck behind someone slow and end up having to hold yourself up for long periods of times exhausting your arms. Adam used an old rock climbing trick to just hang by your arms until your ready to move again. He was one of the only people I saw actually make it across the entire course.
Then it was off to ziplining for the both of us! You fell right into the water, so I was pretty sure I’d be safe doing this even pregnant and it was super duper fun! Loved it!
Then Adam hit up the 2nd ropes course which had a bunch of crazy things to get through. But it was super fun and once again he made it through the whole thing without falling in the water. Thats my guy!
Afterwards we took a break and headed to one of the all inclusive restaurants for some “snacks.” We mostly just got french fries, chicken tenders, and tried out some different desserts. Ice cream always being the favorite! 🙂
Had to take advantage of all the Photo ops!
One of the most interesting parts of the park was going across this bridge that seriously rocked you from side to side. I thought for sure I was going to end up falling off it several times! Here Adam is trying to hold on for dear life! 🙂
It wasn’t the shortest bridge either. Check out the length of that thing!
Later after walking around the park for a bit Adam found an underwater cave he wanted to explore.
I got to watch him explore the cave through these fun openings!
And just for kicks and giggles, here is a map of the park.
The rest of the evening we mostly spent just walking around exploring. There were some beautiful sights along the way!
We even got to see a few animals as we walked. This one got especially close to us!
A Manatee!
Sure was a fun day spent exploring! A great end to a great trip!
