Thursday morning the weatherman told us it was going to be mostly sunny with highs in the upper 70’s. Unfortunately for us, the weatherman was wrong! It ended up being super cold, cloudy, and windy! At least in the morning. Mom and I made some healthy green smoothies for breakfast but Dad wanted a McDonalds Mcgriddle. He had seen a McDonalds during our walk the night and had been talking nonstop about how excited he was to get one. We had to laugh when we showed up and they didn’t carry the McGriddle. Dad was so sad! Then we had to laugh again when our “walk along the beach” that morning turned into a windy cold sprint back to the hotel room as quickly as possible! We even had to use our towels to keep warm!
We ended up deciding to change our plans and instead of having a beach day to take a drive along the coast. But even that came to an abrupt end when more storm clouds rolled in and it started raining and we couldn’t see anything. ha ha! But we at least got to see some of the coast. đ
We ended up stopping at a rest stop for some potty breaks and found this cool camping/picnic area.
Wind surfing!
It also had was a memorial for a ship that had wrecked and took over 20 lives.
Ah! My cute Mom and Pappy Pants!
Our drive took us over several big bridges.
But the clouds kept us from seeing much! Even the bridge was fuzzy!
We then began our journey back home, but had to laugh when just before getting back to Clearwater the weather cleared up and our mostly sunny skies emerged! But by this time it was lunchtime! We ended up stopping at a place that had been recommended to my parents for having the best smoked fish in town. I’m not a big smoked fish fan though so I ended up getting my first hamburger in almost a year! It was tasty!
The rest of the day was pretty relaxing. Dad took us back to our hotel and then took off back to Orlando to give us some more girl time.
We ended up taking some naps and then that afternoon went out to have us a little beach time.
We walked down to the pier and did a little souvenir shopping for the kids.
Another fun day spent with my awesome folks! Sure do love them!
