After our fun hike up to Avalanche Lake we had a few errands to run (like getting the van’s oil changed) so Adam was nice enough to take all the kids into town with him so that I could get a much needed nap. Then if that weren’t enough Adam also picked up some Pizza Hut Pizza’s for dinner giving me a night off of cooking as well. My hero!
After dinner we went straight back to taking full advantage of our time at Glacier though by heading over to the nearby swimming hole for some fun in the water. When we first arrived it was super crowded, but within maybe 10 minutes, the sun went down and everyone for the most part packed up and left leaving us the whole place to ourselves! Yes!
At first everyone was pretty timid about getting in the water (lets be honest – they don’t call it Glacier National park for nothing), but eventually everyone got brave enough to jump in the icy waters.
Harry as usual was the first one in! (After his Dad of course!)
This little guy and I hung out on the rocks and designated ourselves the picture takers!
Brans took his first jump from off the rocks!
I know this picture is blurry, but I just had to put it in because it shows Adam chasing me all over the rocks in an attempt to throw me in the water! Luckily, Adam remembered that I HATE cold water and would most likely murder him in his sleep if he were to throw me in, so I think he opted to just hug me with his wet body in the end, but the kids sure got a kick out of it. And I’m glad I have the sort of husband who respects my wishes to get into water on my own terms. 🙂 Thanks honey!
He did get me a little wet with his cold icy body though!
And the guys behind us thought it was hilarious!
Adam also had fun slipping down the rocks into the water but decided it was too dangerous for kids since the current was so strong and the rocks weren’t positioned deep enough the kids not to hit them.
But he did take turns swimming with the kids in the current and letting it take them downstream.
Here Ady is begging for her turn. She was super happy until her little body hit the water and then she was begging to be back on the warm rocks! She is just like her Mamma with a low tolerance for COLD!
Love this “cool dude.”
We sure had a great time at the swimming hole and once again created some fun memories!
We sure do love Glacier National Park!
