After our scenic drive and nature hike, it was time to head back to Baker where I had rented us a motel room at the Whispering Elms Motel. And true to my word we ended up having a movie night and watching no other than the first “Back to the Future!” I love showing my kids movies I loved growing up! And the older boys loved that they got to stay up until midnight!
The next day we got up pretty early (6:30 am Pacific time), had some instant oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, and then took off for our full day exploring Great Basin! Our first stop was to Lehman caves which had been sold out online, but lucky for us, they made an exception and let our group follow another group in and just see the first 30 minutes of the tour. We were A-okay with that since Jamis HAD to be held the whole time (no back packs allowed) and since the kids couldn’t touch anything in the cave. So 30 minutes was just about right. I don’t know that I would have wanted to stay any longer. Sure was a fun little excursion for me and the kids though!
