As anyone with kids knows, there is just something about kids and water that go together. At least my kids seem drawn to the water and usually within seconds of being near it, one of them will inevitably end up in the drink! You’d think that the icy temperatures of the water would deter them, but those deep blue waters must have just been calling to them because within minutes almost every single one of our kids ended up sopping wet! Some of the kids got in on purpose, while others accidentally fell in or didn’t think the water was as deep as it was and got their clothes all wet. Oh bless them! But they all were having a great time so I guess that is all that matters.
Then the Dad’s got in and decided to take the Polar Plunge by going completely under the water. They also tried to convince a few kids to do it with them, but I don’t think they got any takers!
Some of us preferred sitting on the rocks handing out snacks and taking pictures!
Later Adam and Cam decided to do some cliff jumping into the icy waters as well. They usually got a lot of hootin’ and hollerin’ from spectators!
We took a few family shots with the clear blue water as our background. Love these awesome folks!
Then it was time to make our assent back up the mountain. It was a little bit more of a challenge going up than down as the trail was pretty steep. We had to take a lot of breaks.
I know this picture is a little blurry, but I love the moss all over the branches. So cool!
Sure was a wonderful and beautiful hike with our two families!
