Driving home from White Domes was also pretty magical. There is just something beautiful about the light at Dusk and the way it hits the mountains and formations. We loved seeing the sunset as we drove a well and made one last quick stop to see the petrified logs.
This is one of the cool petrified logs we saw.
That night we had another campfire and loved singing songs and telling stories. Then some of us took advantage of the camp showers since we had church the next day (the adults). I ended up helping the kids shower the next morning while Adam broke camp. We wanted to time it just right so that Adam could come and pick up all the kids from the showers so that they didn’t get all dirty and dusty on the walk back to camp. Worked like a charm.
Adam took us to one last sight before leaving Valley of Fire for Las Vegas. That of Face Rock. If you look in the middle of the picture the red rock and tan mountain in the distance make a V with the blue sky. That is where the face is. Its a profile shot and looks like Abe Lincoln with his prominent chin and nose. ha ha! See it?
After Valley of Fire we drove the hour to Las Vegas where Adam found us an LDS church to attend at 11:00. We ended up going to all three hours and then afterwards went and had lunch at a nearby park. We then went and drove to the Las Vegas Temple before checking into our Wyndam condo at 4:00. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon.
