Valley of Fire – White Domes

If I had to pick one hike that was my favorite in Valley of Fire, white domes would definitely be my choice. It just has a little of everything. Slot canyons, arches, cool formations, tons of different colored rocks, and even goblins! I loved it. Maybe I liked it so much because I got to hike it with just my sweetheart (Mumsie was kind enough to watch the kids since both she and the kids wanted to be done hiking for the night) so Adam and I got to get out on our own for a few hours to see this magnificent place. Maybe its because we got to watch the sunset on the way home. Either way, it was spectacular! We had such a fun time!

This place even had soft pretty white sand!

I loved these gorgeous orange walls!

Apparently Valley of Fire is a very common place to shoot Hollywood movies and if I remember right it has been the landscape for at least 5 movies including Star Trek. This is one of the leftover sets that was done many years ago. Now it is much more difficult to shoot films here and requires permits and other red tape.

I absolutely loved seeing so many colors on this hike. See the purple goblin heads?

Here is a closer look at what I told Adam looked like Goblin heads. They were awesome!

One of two of the fun arches we found!

These next two pictures were fun to take and required setting the timer and then Adam scaling up the rocks to get to the arch! We literally had the entire hike to ourselves!

Loved the pink and yellow mix!

Here is the other full arch we found! So pretty!

This is the same arch but looking through the other side.

Such an amazing amazing place!
