Kimber and I were the first to arrive at the condo and then Catherine and Liesl came up later around dinner time. We decided to go out to eat to a cafe of sorts near Heber that was known for its great burgers and fries, and everyone seemed quite pleased with their meal. I had been eating all day so I didn’t get much.
Later we went back to the condo and mostly talked, but then later we also started a chick flick movie. I’m having the hardest time remembering all the movies we watched, but they all were EXCELLENT (Kimber brought her personal stash), and we ended up watching only movies I’d never seen – which was perfect, because I apparently am way behind on the times! Either that, or I’m really good at letting my husband pick the movies! ha ha!
The next day we mostly just stayed in and Liesl made us a delicious breakfast casserole dinner but did venture out for a bit after lunch (yummy chicken salad sandwiches) to go to the grocery store, out to an ice cream place and to sample some Heber Valley cheese (which the girls thought was excellent but I’m not a big cheese fan). Then that night Triston came up and we had a nice pizza dinner made by Kimber. And lets not forget the cookie dough for dessert! Yum!
Then after dinner we decided to hit up the condo pool for some lap swimming, Marco Polo, swim races, synchronized swimming, and hot tubing! We all seemed to love being in the water!
On Saturday Triston made us a yummy breakfast and then we mostly just hung out at the condo all morning putting together the worlds hardest puzzle (my puzzle of Lake Bled in Slovenia) and then we decided later that afternoon to go on a drive up the canyon and then up to Park City. Shauntai was able to join up with us for that part and we had a fun time going shopping at the outlets and taking a drive up in the mountains before she had to head home for a previous planned family activity.
That night we came back to the condo where I made a nice pulled pork dinner with grilled veggies and salad, and then we spent the rest of the night puzzling, watching chick flicks, eating an insane amount of cookie dough and ice cream, and catching up with Jessica Woodard who had come to join us for the evening!
And then it was time to say our goodbyes to our fun girls weekend away in Midway since it was Sunday and all of us had church and meetings to attend. All in all though I’d say the weekend was a huge success and was exactly what I needed to regroup, rejuvenate, relax, and be inspired by beautiful wonderful women who I get to call friends! I truly have been so blessed! Thank you everyone for coming and for all the yummy meals you prepared. I sure am lucky to have you in my life and look forward to many more girls getaways in the future! Love you all!
