Our last day in Oregon took us through the lovely town of Astoria and then we headed due East along the Colombia river. We loved seeing big bridges, boats, and large lumber yards as we went.
We also made a pretty big detour to go and see Mount Rainier National Park. We only got to drive through it with infrequent stops, since we were trying to get up to Cam and Erins, but wowsee wow wow did we love the views as we drove! Such an awesome place, with waterfalls, lakes, rivers, and grand mountains at almost every turn!
We did make a quick stop for lunch to make PBJ’s, but then got right back to driving.
See the waterfall in the middle of the below picture?
And this waterfall coming out of these sheer cliffs?
This next picture is actually looking down a huge waterfall.
Brans and Adam ran the .02 miles down to see the bottom of the waterfall and get some pictures while I stayed with the other kids and a sleeping baby.
Wow! Looks a lot different from the bottom.
This is the side view of the same waterfall from the top while we waited in the parking lot.
Next up, Mount Rainier the Volcano.
