The Tiger Temple and Climbing 1,266 stairs

For our next adventure we decided to go and climb the Tiger Temple which is on top of a mountain and requires you to go up 1,237 stairs to get to the top.  I had tried to talk Adam out of this excursion, seeing as the kids would start dragging after about 200 steps and be whining and complaining the whole time, but it was highly rated on tripadvisor so we decided to go anyway.  I stayed back with the little kids who we knew wouldn’t enjoy the hike up, so that Adam, Jess, Brans, and Harry could make it to the top in good time. Before they headed up though we were able to get some pictures at the lower temple that is in the construction phase.
We saw these cool sights as we were driving to the temple.

And here is a lower tiger temple being built at the bottom of the mountain.  It is under construction now, but I think will be a great addition to this attraction.

And here are our brave climbers!  They actually counted the steps and said it was actually 1,266 stairs to the top. ha!  But then they had to come all the way down the stairs too which makes another 1,266 steps! Wow!  They said coming down was even tougher!

Here is the big Buddha that awaited them when they got to the top!

And some of the beautiful views.  They got up just at sunset!

While they climbed, Dawson and Ady and I explored more of the temple grounds.  We found some cool buildings, a park, and even a tiger cave with more Buddha’s to explore. We also learned that tigers had once been in these mountains but after man moved in – they migrated elsewhere. Aka. why it is called Tiger temple.

It was a pretty cool place!
